Unfortunately, it is also a place of big pain and cynical heinous crimes, as demonstrated by the terrorist attack on a Tel Aviv disco on June 1, 2001. Despite this tragedy, the people of Tel Aviv have installed a modest and sincere monument as a symbol of their patriotism and determination to keep dancing. This is a powerful reminder that Israel is their home, and they will not be defeated by terrorism.
